Florida Congressman Ron DeSantis has been surging in the polls and racking up endorsements, and now he’s gained the support of Jacksonville Mayor Lenny Curry.
Both visited an after school program in Jacksonville this week where Mayor Curry formally endorsed the Congressman in his bid to become Florida’s next Governor.Calling the Congressman his “brothers from a different mother,” Mayor Curry explained that “We agree on many things. Got to be tough on crime. Got to get bad guys off the street. Invest in young people.”
He also noted that “Ron and I have similar backgrounds. We come from working-class families. Worked our butts off to get a good education.”

Finally, Curry detailed that “Ron’s a good conservative. I’ve been about disrupting the status quo locally and I think that’s what’s got to happen everywhere. Ron’s going to disrupt the status quo in the state of Florida. I’m supporting him.”
Although he called Florida Agricultural Commissioner Adam Putnam a “friend,” Curry believes that Congressman DeSantis “is the right guy right now.”
He also said that he would do “whatever it takes” to help DeSantis and his campaign with fundraising. This endorsement comes right before Commissioner Putnam is scheduled to campaign in Jacksonville.
