Florida Senator Marco Rubio has already stated that he would not run for re-election to the U.S. Senate, but that didn’t stop Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump from suggesting that Rubio stay put, and preserve his spot in the governing body.
Here is what Trump tweeted:Poll data shows that @marcorubio does by far the best in holding onto his Senate seat in Florida. Important to keep the MAJORITY. Run Marco!

Do you think the 2nd Amendment will be destroyed by the Biden Administration?(2)
Trump has a point. Even though he lost Florida’s presidential primary to Trump, Rubio has massive name identification around the state, and is still respected by the GOP, even though they believe Trump would do better as president.
The current field of GOP Senate candidates is struggle to even get a third of the favorable poll ratings Rubio enjoys, leaving many scratching their heads as to why Rubio doesn’t just stay put for another year or so.
Rubio can run for re-election, win, and then decided to leave the Senate. If he were to do so, Republican Governor Rick Scott would be able to appoint himself, or someone else until who would keep the seat safe until 2022.
Fat chance Rubio runs for re-election, as the private sector will suit him and his family just fine in the coming years.
