I have been saying since Day 1 that the Republican presidential primary race would come down to Senators Marco Rubio and Ted Cruz.
Of course, I stated this before Donald Trump had officially announced that he was running for President, and his staying power atop all the national GOP presidential polls is nothing less than astonishing. The most recent Fox News poll released last weekend has Trump leading the field with 28 percent support, up two percentage points from the previous Fox News poll.
Dr. Ben Carson, has dropped 5 percentage points from 23 to 18, while Cruz and Rubio are tied for still tied for third with 14 percent support.
Do you think the 2nd Amendment will be destroyed by the Biden Administration?(2)
I expected Carson to drop, considering that many Republicans that I have spoken to about this candidacy have eluded to him being their Barack Obama, or “our guy.”
You can read between the lines.
At this juncture, I think it is fair to say that the rest of the field of GOP presidential candidates are just trying to stay afloat, and are all probably considering a exit strategy. If they are not, then they better get on it.
