Pals no more? A tracker from the Right to Rise PAC supporting Jeb Bush tried to slip into an event in Iowa for Marco Rubio as reported by POLITICO.
Rubio’s staff quickly spotted the spy and removed them. This incident along with many prior ones are leaving some to wonder if the once friends are now enemies.
Chris Mudd, who hosted the Cedar Halls Town Hall event for Rubio at Mudd Advertising said:

Since the PAC was started up in January with Bush’s blessing he has said he looked “forward to an exchange of ideas and substantive policy proposals.”
Now that Bush is a candidate, the PAC works independently. The recent incident made the PAC look like an attack machine and not sophisticated like Bush said it was.Mudd also said:
The words don’t match the actions from here. I’ve listened to him talk and he’s said a lot of good things but I didn’t like this.
A spokesperson for the Right to Rise PAC, Paul Lindsay, said they sent a tracker to the event to get footage. Since the PAC is working only in the interest of Bush, the footage would of not show Rubio in a positive light. He probably would have been featured in an attack ad against himself which is frustrating for any candidate.
Lindsay also said:
We had to go to Iowa to get Marco Rubio on camera because when we turn on C-SPAN 2 he’s nowhere to be seen on the Senate floor.
Sending spies to opponents events is nothing new in politics. It is done all the time. People just do not expect friends to stoop that low.
