Arguably one of the most politically palatable and inspiring 2016 Republican presidential candidate, Senator Marco Rubio, is not fairing well in the polls.
Yes, it is still way too early to start picking a winner in the contested GOP presidential primary race. And yes, the phenomenon that is Donald Trump, and the entrance of Gov. Scott Walker, not to mention Jeb Bush’s presence, have something to do with Rubio’s decline in popularity among likely Republican voters, but this dip in the polls has been trending over the past couple of months.
Rubio was doing well in Florida, but a recent poll has him trailing his friend and former Governor Jeb Bush by double-digits among voting Republicans in the Sunshine State.
Do you think the 2nd Amendment will be destroyed by the Biden Administration?(2)
Is this the end of Rubio’s presidential campaign?
Not by a long shot, regardless of the fact that he has fallen in all of the recent polls taken in this race.
Here is how Rubio is doing in the early primary states, as far as the average of polls conducted (RCP) :Iowa: 7/21-Rubio places in 8th behind Cruz, Huckabee, Paul, Bush, and the leader Scott Walker, with 6.3 percent of the voteÂ
New Hampshire: 6/18-7/26-Rubio places a distant 4th behind Walker, Bush, and Trump, who is in the lead. Paul, Carson, and Christie are all within 1 percentage point of Rubio.
South Carolina: 3/26-6/8 -Rubio is 7th with 6 percentage points behind Bush, Walker, Lindsay Graham, Carson, Cruz, and Huckabee.Â
National: 7/9-7/25-Rubio is 4th, which is a good spot to be in, but what matters is how well he does in the first four Republican primary states.
In a head-to-head match up against presumptive Democratic presidential nominee, Hillary Clinton, Bush and Paul match up the best. The first Republican presidential debate is August 6th, and many expected Rubio to shine in front of millions of Americans, possibly helping him to move up in the polls.
