Its 4:20 somewhere and that place is Alaska. Earlier on today Alaska became the third state along with Colorado and the state of Washington to legalize recreational marijuana.
Last November residents voted 53-47 percent to legalize marijuana use by adults in private places. Since then the lawmakers and regulators have been sorting out the details.Even though Alaskans 21 and older can now possess up to an ounce of pot and as many as six plants they have to toke indoors. If police officers catch them smoking in public they will be fined $100.
Currently the legislature is still working out the details in regards to the sale of marijuana meaning most likely stores will not be opened until 2016.
Do you think the 2nd Amendment will be destroyed by the Biden Administration?(2)
Oregon is set to become the fourth state to legalize recreational marijuana in July. Whereas Washington, DC is expected to legalize marijuana for personal consumption but not retail sale later on this week.
In Florida the fight still continues to legalize medical marijuana. Late last week there was a bitter feud between one of the biggest Florida Democratic donors, attorney John Morgan and US Congresswoman, Debbie Wasserman Schultz over the matter.
Morgan has since called on Wasserman Schultz to resign from her position as the Chairperson of the Democratic National Committee after she expressed concerns over the medical marijuana amendment which is to be voted on in November. The amendment was sought for by Morgan and he also financed it to get on the ballot.
