Democratic National Committee Chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz once again is up to her typical rhetorical, blame-shifting games that are designed to scapegoat Republicans as the sole cause of all political gridlock on Capitol Hill. Appearing on CBS This Morning, Wasserman Schultz was busy setting up Republicans as patsies in the upcoming ‘Debt Ceiling’ debate even as President Barack Obama has already refused to negotiate spending cuts in exchange for an increase in the debt ceiling.
Congresswoman Wasserman Schultz posted on her Facebook page that she hopes that the Congress “will reach across the aisle for the good of the American people,” and during her CBS This Morning appearance she said that, “we cannot begin this second term of President Obama’s engaging in ‘my way or the highway’ politics. We have to work together.”
Do you think the 2nd Amendment will be destroyed by the Biden Administration?(2)
Leave it to Debbie Wasserman Schultz to totally frame this issue in the most disingenuous way possible, and if you haven’t heard what Senator Ted Cruz told Mark Levin last week, it’s worth three minutes to learn the real skinny about the debt ceiling.
When asked if there is any hope that Congress will now come together “for the good of the American people,” Congresswoman Wasserman Schultz said the following-I am full of hope. I really think that we have an opportunity here to continue to cross the aisle. I know President Obama and Democrats in Congress hope that the Republicans are willing to reach back. We cannot begin this second term of President Obama’s engaging in ‘my way or the highway’ politics. We have to work together.
Even after four years of a President pursuing the most extreme and divisive polarizing agenda in American history, Wasserman-Schultz is still “full of hope” and betting that 51% of Americans either don’t know what’s going on or don’t care to remember. As Debbie and her Democrat allies in Congress have been Obama’s willing accomplices recklessly running up our national debt over the past four years, you can bet she’s now going to make her best case for “bipartisanship” knowing full well that Republicans do have some significant leverage over the President as the debt-ceiling deadline looms.
I am not sure they get that we need to pay our bills, they seem to be confused if they only propose the increase for three months. –Â Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz
As if this needs to be written once more for seemingly the 16 trillionth time- we have a spending problem, not a “revenue” problem that Democrats insist that exists. Here’s a bit of government spending trivia that the good Congresswoman will never disclose- the recently passed Hurricane Sandy Relief bill wound up costing taxpayers $50 billion dollars, even as the cost of the baseline measure in the House was only $17 billion. But guess what- that $50 billion dollar pork-laden relief package instantly consumed all of the extra projected tax revenue from income earners over $400,000 that the President “won” in the recent “fiscal cliff” deal.
For all of Debbie’s misleading talk about the government needing more “revenues” (note to conservatives- we need to drop that term forever and insist that it’s really “tax hikes” they’re referring to) their purpose is not to close gaping federal deficits, but to take more of American’s hard-earned income away in the name of “fairness” while Debbie and the Democrats inexorably chart our course into the fiscal abyss.Share the post below
