As the Miami-Dade Mayor’s recall resulted in the ouster of County Commissioner Natacha Seijas along with Mayor Carlos Alvarez, word has it that State Representative Esteban ‘Stevie’ Bovo will announce for the vacated County Commissioners seat within the next couple of days. Bovo’s state house seat is situated right smack in the middle of the Commissioner’s seat that has opened up, and Bovo enjoys a very solid support from his constituents, making him the de-facto frontrunner in the County Commissioner race. There is little doubt that Bovo, with his considerable influence throughout Florida politics, will be getting substantial support from his ‘amigo’s in Tallahassee and especially from his main ‘consorte’* in Washington, D.C.
*Note– “Consorte” translated from Cuban slang to English means “friend”.
