Congressman Ron DeSantis finally received an official endorsement from President Donald Trump via a tweet. In his bid against Florida’s Agriculture Commissioner Adam Putnam to replace term-limited Florida Governor Rick Scott, DeSantis hasn’t had much of a presence when it comes to advertisements. Now, DeSantis has released a new advertisement touting the President’s endorsement.
In the 30-second advertisement titled Only DeSantis, it covers the Congressman’s background is covered while also quickly mentioning many key positions of his campaign. For example, a narrator explains that DeSantis is an “Iraq War veteran. JAG officer who dealt with terrorists in Guantanamo Bay.” The advertisement also mentions that the Congressman has “The guts to fight establishment politicians in both parties to drain the swamp. 100 percent pro-life. Leading the charge against illegal immigration.”In closing, the advertisement also touts that “Backed by the big man himself, President Trump says Ron DeSantis is a quote ‘brilliant leader’ and an ‘absolute warrior.”
In response to the endorsement, Putnam’s campaign spokeswoman, Meredith Beatrice, explained that “As the Fox News poll indicates, grassroots momentum behind his Florida First vision continues to grow. Adam looks forward to working with President Trump as Florida’s next governor to keep our economy thriving, taxes low and our borders secure.”
