In the race to replace term-limited Florida Governor Rick Scott, former Miami Beach Mayor Philip Levine is leading on the Democrat’s side, and the once thought of as frontrunner, former Congresswoman Gwen Graham, is lagging behind him at 16 percent behind his 32 percent in support in Miami and Tampa. And, in Orlando, she’s tied in 3rd place with businessman Chris King.
However, she’s brushing off these polls as she makes appearances focusing on education, which she calls the backbone of her campaign.In a statement, she explained that “I don’t believe in polls. You can find a poll to tell you whatever you want a poll to tell you. I’m not at all concerned about any poll or any individual. I feel really positive about where our campaign is, and we’re going to win this race.” In addition, she also mentioned that she doesn’t like the term “frontrunner.”
And, with new advertisements hitting Orlando and Tampa, she explained that the poll numbers aren’t to blame for the push.

She detailed that “We were ready to get up on TV when the timing was right. We’re running the smartest campaign” with the intention to “wake up and hopefully have an opportunity to talk and learn from Floridians what their challenges are, because that’s what this election is about. It’s about having a governor who cares about Floridians again.”
