In a press release by John Rivera, President of the Florida Police Benevolent Association, it was announced that the largest police union was endorsing both Gwen Graham, former congresswoman, and Adam Putnam, Florida’s Agriculture Commissioner, in their respective efforts to gain the nomination of their parties to replace outgoing Florida Governor Rick Scott who is term-limited.
Rivera explained that “The men and women of law enforcement and corrections are proud supporters of Commissioner Adam Putnam for Florida Governor. His trust and confidence in law enforcement throughout his distinguished career is unparalleled. He is a true champion of public service who understands the sacrifices. We are grateful for his support and proud to endorse Adam Putnam for Governor.”
He also called the former Congresswoman “a true champion for the brave men and women of law enforcement and corrections.”
Rivera detailed that “She understands our service, along with our sacrifices and we are confident in her ability to unite the citizens of Florida. We are very proud to endorse our friend Gwen Graham for Governor.”
In addition to both of those endorsements, Rivera also announced the endorsements of Democratic State Representative Sean Shaw and Republican Ashley Moody in their respective efforts to become Florida’s next Attorney General.
