Governor Rick Scott, now involved in a bid to unseat Democratic Senator Bill Nelson, is taking a page out of President Trump’s playbook and taking to twitter to playfully attack Governors.
In a series of tweets, Governor Scott took jabs at Alaska Governor Bill Walker, Delaware Governor John Carney and Tennessee Governor Bill Haslam. The tweets come after WalletHub released a study that showed the sunshine state having the fourth lowest tax burden. Governor Walker is a former Republican turned Independent, Haslam is a Republican and Carney is a Democrat.According to WalletHub, “To determine the residents with the biggest tax burdens, WalletHub compared the 50 states across the three tax types of state tax burdens — property taxes, individual income taxes and sales and excise taxes — as a share of total personal income in the state.”
.@AkGovBillWalker, a new @WalletHub study ranks FL 4th for tax burden, while AK is 1st. Congrats on keeping taxes low for your 800,000 residents. We've already cut $10B in taxes for our 21 million residents. We look forward to taking the title soon #TaxDay https://t.co/4wwEzXM0gd

Do you think the 2nd Amendment will be destroyed by the Biden Administration?(2)
.@JohnCarneyDE, a new @WalletHub study ranks FL 4th for tax burden, while DE is no. 2. Congrats on your ranking, but you should know that FL has no personal income tax, bringing savings to Floridians on #TaxDay. We'll keep fighting to cut taxes https://t.co/4wwEzXM0gd

It’s rare for the Florida Governor to use social media in such a way considering that his twitter account has only been used to share his thoughts on major events and to share accomplishments or ideas of important matters that will be addressed. But, it seems the sunshine state is getting to see another side of the Governor with one week into his senate run.
