After a busy Easter weekend, the White House released a statement announcing that President Trump will be hosting Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe at his “Winter White House” on April 17th and 18th.
The statement detailed that “President Trump and Prime Minister Abe will explore ways to expand fair and reciprocal trade and investment ties between the United States and Japan, two of the world’s wealthiest and most innovative economies.”
It also explained that “President Trump and Prime Minister Abe’s third summit meeting will reaffirm the United States-Japan alliance as a cornerstone of peace, stability, and prosperity in the Indo-Pacific region.” And, it added that “The two leaders will discuss the international campaign to maintain maximum pressure on North Korea in advance of President Trump’s planned meeting with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un. President Trump and Prime Minister Abe will explore ways to expand fair and reciprocal trade and investment ties between the United States and Japan, two of the world’s wealthiest and most innovative economies.”
Most importantly, it’s also reported that the two will discuss President Trump’s upcoming meeting with North Korean Leader Kim Jong-un. The discussion is said to continue the goal of having “maximum pressure on North Korea.”
