Florida Democratic Senator Bill Nelson is up for reelection in 2018, and it’s largely believed that Governor Rick Scott will be running against him for the senate seat.
In a new ad from Americans for Prosperity, Senator Nelson is attacked for voting against a Republican tax reform package that AFP argues has been beneficial. This is part of the “American Pay Raise” campaign they’re running, and the ad argues that Senator Nelson “voted against putting more money in your pocket.”Americans for Prosperity President Tim Phillips explained that “After eight years of a lackluster economy, we are witnessing a new era of growth in which Americans from every walk of life are finding more money in their pockets to save or spend on things they care about most, all thanks to tax reform. Higher take-home pay, more business investments at home and better worker benefits are all part of the great American Pay Raise.”
They also launched a letter on their website that people can sign to contact Senator Nelson and let him know “to support a pro-growth agenda by building on the benefits of tax reform and opposing policies that would undermine them.”
Do you think the 2nd Amendment will be destroyed by the Biden Administration?(2)
Specifically, they ask him to “oppose special-interest tax breaks. Oppose new taxes, such as a proposed 25-cents-per-gallon federal gas tax increase. Make permanent all tax cuts that are due to expire in 2025. Eliminate unnecessary regulations that slow economic growth and reduce opportunities and jobs.”
