The failed government shutdown effort by congressional Democrats has proven to be a nightmare (literally) for Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer and his fellow Democratic compatriots.
Democrats, who were holding the government hostage by pushing for a broader immigration reform measure outside of the bipartisan DACA issue, buckled under pressure when Republican Senate Majority Leader tapped his finger on the nuclear option button, forcing Schumer & Co. to assume the position under their respective desks.Now a group of immigration reform activists in New York, who have denounced the recent agreement to keep the lights on in Washington, decided to bother poor Schumer at home by attempting to keep him up all night for failing them on immigration reform.
“If Chuck won’t let us dream, we won’t let him sleep,” some chanted. “No! Not one more deportation.”

There has been no word out yet on whether the protest forced Schumer to stay up watching reruns of the 1980’s sitcom the “Golden Girls,” but perhaps the president’s latest tweet is the real reason Chuck may have resorted to counting sheep?
