With Florida Speaker of the House Richard Corcoran expected to enter the Republican gubernatorial race and challenge Rep. Ron DeSantis and Agriculture Commissioner Adam Putnam for their party’s nomination, would all the oxygen be sucked out of that race, leaving little room for anyone else to mount an effective primary challenge?
The answer to that question is probably ‘yes,’ but hold your horses for one minute, as Republican candidate Bob White could make some ‘hay’ with his outsider Libertarian gubernatorial campaign.White, who is Florida’s Rand Paul, is no slouch when it comes to campaigning, and has been able to leverage his position as Chairman of the Republican Liberty Caucus to help fuel his run for statewide office.
Well, what we mean by fueling his campaign is that White has been able to use the grassroots support of the RLC, but that doesn’t necessarily translate into campaign donations.
Do you think the 2nd Amendment will be destroyed by the Biden Administration?(2)
According to the latest Florida Supervisor of Elections campaign finance reporting, White’s campaign ended the November 2017 reporting cycle with a mere $31,000.
White will obviously have to do better if he hopes to have any chance of beating Putnam, DeSantis and Corcoran, who all have raised millions of campaign dollars, and are expected to continue their respective fundraising paces.
Speaking of “noise,” White is holding a shooting range fundraiser in Titusville later this month.I think it is safe to say that Bob White likes his guns.
