“The American people to me are my boss”-Antonio Sabato, Jr.
President Ronald Reagan broke the mold for any actor, actress or entertainer that aspires to break into the political world. Since running for president, we have seen Sonny Bono make it to congress, comedian Al Franken win his U.S. Senate seat in 2010, and now we may soon see another established actor, Antonio Sabato, Jr., roam the halls of the U.S. Congress.Sabato, Jr, who immigrated from Italy in 1985 with his parents and sister, and is now a proud father of three, has decided to run for Congress as a Republican in California’s 26th congressional district.
Yes, Sabato, Jr. is a Republican in Hollywood and is not afraid to tell you that he is one, and that he wholeheartedly supports President Donald Trump. If you are wondering if the seat in which he is running in is competitive, it is. The seat is winnable, and, historically, Republicans have held the seat up until a few years ago.

Antonio Sabato, Jr.
Do you think the 2nd Amendment will be destroyed by the Biden Administration?(2)
The unapologetic Republican says he has profound love for this country, and argues that the taxing Democratic Party has, over the years, implemented a “bunch of laws” that have “endangered our communities.”
During a phone interview with the Shark Tank this past weekend, Sabo didn’t mince his words about anything, especially how he feels about liberal Democrats.
“They (Democrats) are against the 2nd Amendment. They are against our president, they are against the police, and they are for this illegal immigration.”
So, who is this guy Antonio?
The Man
Antonio Sabato, Jr., and Italian Jew, was born in Rome, Italy. His father is from Palermo and his mother was from Czechoslovakia, where she escaped communism by immigrating to Italy. When the Sabato family immigrated to the U.S. in 1985, his parents faced the same challenges that other immigrants did, as they struggled to make ends meet, and had to work 2-3 jobs just to support Antonio and his sister.
The Run
A lifelong Independent, Sabato, Jr. says he became a Republican a couple years back after seeing how the US had transformed over the past 10 years (Obama years), adding, “it’s my time to give back.”“I am who I am. This is who I want to be. I am a Conservative. It’s in my nature to be one.”
But even though Sabo calls himself a Conservative, he knows that to make pro-American and substantive change to existing policy, he must also “work with Democrats to better America,” if he were to be elected to the US Congress. When asked if he has received a cold shoulder from Hollywood elites after outing himself politically, Sabo says that because of his support for President Trump, Hollywood “blacklisted” him.
Sabo continues acting and has a new movie coming out, but right now he is completely focused on his congressional campaign. He lives and breathes it.
Immigration“The push back was that I was blacklisted.
“I know how it is, I know how it feels. I understand that if you work hard, you do things legally, and you do it through the process, and when you earn your citizenship, you feel proud at that moment.”
Sabo, who says he felt the proudest in life when he first became a US citizen, is a strong supporter of President Trump’s immigration policy, believing that in order truly secure the border, “The Wall” needs to be built, and “existing immigration laws” needed to be implemented, as well as finding more funding for law enforcement.
Citing the ongoing drug war that has been raging along the southern U.S. border, Sabo questions why existing immigration laws are not enforced, and if the government is really going to “protect our people” from the violence the drug trade brings with it.
Yes, he is hawkish on legal immigration, but like most Americans, the father of three shows compassion for those DACA and Dreamers living in this country.
“They are here. It wasn’t their fault to begin with. They are here now, and I think they should stay here… Again, those kids need to stay here. I am compassionate, but I am also not compassionate for people who take advantage of the American people, taxpayer money. We need to protect our border and build this wall at whatever risk.”
As far as the controversial “Sanctuary” issue, Sabo is adamantly against the notion that criminal illegal immigrants can find safe harbor is cities and counties that refuse to cooperate with the federal government.
“I will never accept my county (Ventura) to become a sanctuary county.”
Sexual Harassment
Being that he is an actor in Hollywood, we had to ask Sabo about his thoughts regarding the ongoing sexual harassment/assault pandemic that has gripped the nation. Sabo says he is “old fashioned” and that he his father raised him to be respectful to anyone he encounters in life.
Sabo hopes that more sunlight shines on the sexual abuse that has been perpetrated by fellow actors, and especially those individuals who call the shots, cut the checks, and are ultimately responsible for their respective network, channel or studio.“Understand that the executives, the president of the networks and the studios, they know what’s going on. They’ve known for quite some time.” Sabo added, “people talk, and all they do in this industry is gossip. How could executives not know.”
Sabo was quite candid when we asked him if he was ever of victim of sexual harassment or assault during his career. While he said, he had never been a victim, he did say that during the star of his career. He stated that, particularly when he was modeling, he did encounter individuals who made sexual references to him and used sexually charged language, but he did not think much of it and just blew it off.

Sabo with the cast of “The Big Hit”
President Trump
Antonio Sabato, Jr. hearts President Donald Trump. It’s as simple as that.
“Thank God we have President Trump”
Like most informed Americans do, Sabo believes that Trump is responsible for the economic prosperity the US is enjoying, giving the president credit for the stock market’s recent and ongoing meteoric rise.
Sab0 also applauds Trump’s foreign policy, saying that one of the worst deals the US has ever signed was the Iran Nuke deal, and would like to see the “bad deal” struck down.
When it comes to North Korea, Sabo says that if China doesn’t act and implement severe sanctions against the rogue Communist nation, the US and its allies will have no other choice but to “demolish that country” if the “crazy nut” decides to cross the ultimate line.
Making America Great Again
“Yeah, America needs to be great again. Listen, we have values in this country[.] I think we have the American dream. If you work hard, respect your country, and respect the flag, that with that kind of effort and that kind of drive, you can get somewhere and make something happen for you and your family like my family and so many others did. We got to put our country first. Our country has to be rebuilt. Our military has to be rebuilt. Our borders have to be secured. We have to lower taxes. We need to lower regulations.”
Sabo is pressing the political flesh wherever he goes. Whether he is campaign in his congressional district, chumming around and meeting members of the US Congress in Washington, or taking time to build a Florida foundation (Sabo spends a lot of time in Florida), the man is focused on going to Washington to help Trump drain the swamp.
