Washington,D.C.-We all remember when Republican Senator John McCain sided with Democrats to scrap the full repeal and replacement of Obamacare.

President Trump singled out McCain for his betrayal of the American people, as some of his colleagues in the Senate, including Sens. Marco Rubio and Ted Cruz, both came out and expressed their deep disappointment in the senior senator’s decision.

Now that the senate has taken up tax reform, passing the latest version of the chamber’s measure, Senator Ted Cruz, in an exclusive interview with the Shark Tank in his DC office, has opened up about this “major milestone,” and what he believes is a “historic accomplishment” for the senate.

Cruz said that the measure would double the child tax credit, as well as pointing to “a number of victories” within vote he championed, specifically the full repeal of Obamacare individual mandate, which he calls “a big, big deal.”

Cruz said that just two months ago, there was “virtually no support” from the GOP-controlled Senate to repeal the insurance mandate with the tax reform measure, adding that it was “real tax relief for Americans that won’t get taxed by the IRS” for not having health insurance.
