It appears as if many within President Donald Trump’s base of support are apprehensive about the president’s possible push to grant amnesty for the 800,000 DACA children. President Obama first protected these kids, or Dreamers, from deportation via executive fiat, but Trump recently rescinded that order, and rightly punted the issue off to the US Congress.
Trump has all along said that these kids were here at no fault of their own, and the he would work to help them get past their illegal immigration status.The recently reported deal Trump struck a deal with Democratic Congressional leaders Senate Minority Leader Sen. Chuck Schumer and House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, has fueled concerns that Trump could offer blanket amnesty for DACA kids, and possibly to other illegal immigrants, as well as stopping the construction of a border wall.
Trump dispelled the talk that a deal was in place, and reaffirmed that the wall was already being built.
The president appears to be sticking to his previous position by questioning the notion that Americans really wanted to deport those DACA kids already serving in the military, and who were already contributing economically to the country.The WALL, which is already under construction in the form of new renovation of old and existing fences and walls, will continue to be built.
