After receiving unprecedented opposition for not denouncing the anti-American, anarchist ANTIFA that fueled the violence in Charlottesville, and most recently Berkeley, California, House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi has finally come out against the group.
But while Pelosi was finally pressed to denounce the violent group, some of her fellow Democratic House members, including south Florida Reps Ted Deutch, Debbie Wasserman Schultz, and Lois Frankel, haven’t.“Our democracy has no room for inciting violence or endangering the public, no matter the ideology of those who commit such acts…The violent actions of people calling themselves antifa [sic] in Berkeley this weekend deserve unequivocal condemnation, and the perpetrators should be arrested and prosecuted.”-Rep. Nancy Pelosi
Shortly after President Trump called out both sides for their participation in the violent Charlottesville, Virginia clashes, House Democrats fired out anti-Trump tweets like this one.
Pelosi’s denouncement of Antifa makes the “moral equivalence” case between violent white supremacists and the ANTIFA movement.White supremacists & anti-racist protesters aren’t morally equivalent. We need to #RootOutRacism in the White House. pic.twitter.com/fLKy3wu6ID
