After inheriting a dismal state economy from then-Republican Governor Charlie Crist, Florida Governor Rick Scott’s 7-year-long “Let’s Get to Work” campaign has not only worked to create a jobs boom in the sunshine state, it has catapulted him to the very top of political universe.
The worst kept secret in Florida has been that Scott would challenge incumbent US Senator Bill Nelson in 2018, this we all know.Scott looks to make the run, but only after the 2018 legislative session, for obvious political reasons.
But if Scott had any doubt about actually making the run for the US Senate, even as President Trump has publicly endorsed his potential candidacy, the latest Florida Atlantic University poll could be the nudge he needed.
Do you think the 2nd Amendment will be destroyed by the Biden Administration?(2)
According to the FAU poll, Senator Nelson barely leads Scott by a narrow 42-40percent margin.
That’s a tie in anyone’s book.
The question:If the election for U.S. Senate was held today and the candidates were Democrat Bill Nelson and Republican Rick Scott who would you vote for?
The answer:
42.4%-Senator Nelson
40.1%-Governor Scott
17.6%-UndecidedIf Democrats hope to take back the Senate, they will need to spend big, big money in order to retain this seat, but it wont be easy with Scott ready to infuse the kind of money he loaned his past gubernatorial campaigns.
