Who we are as nation is a direct result to all of the trials and tribulations, the rights and wrongs that we as a nation have committed in the past, including the War of Independence, the Civil War, slavery, segregation, and even every single congressional election since the inception of the country.
While many see any and all remnants of the Confederacy as being racially insensitive, the fact of the matter is that it’s still part of American history. After the unfortunate violence that occurred at a white nationalist rally Charlottesville, VA , where one women was killed, Democratic members of congress were quick to call for the removal of all Confederacy-era statues from the US Capitol and from public property around the country.
President Trump has condemned white supremacy and the violence that occurred in Virginia, but takes issue for the removal of history Confederacy-era statutes.
Sad to see the history and culture of our great country being ripped apart with the removal of our beautiful statues and monuments. You…..

Democratic House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi is grandstanding again, calling for current Republican Speaker Paul Ryan to “remove the Confederate statues from the Capitol immediately.”
“The Confederate statues in the halls of Congress have always been reprehensible,…If Republicans are serious about rejecting white supremacy, I call upon Speaker Ryan to join Democrats to remove the Confederate statues from the Capitol immediately.”- Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D), NY Times

If Pelosi sees these “Confederate statues” as “reprehensible,” and pressing the current Speaker of the House of Representatives to remove them, why weren’t them removed when she was Speaker?
Remember, when President Obama was elected in 2007, Democrats controlled the entire US Congress and the White House.
Where was the call to arms by the first black President of the United States to take down these “reprehensible” statutes?”We can expect more of this political posturing over Charlottesville to continue in the coming days, but only if some other news story doesn’t steal its spotlight.
