While many so-called “pourist” Conservatives like to cast stones at Republican members of Congress like Rep. Carlos Curbelo for having moderate views on all things politics, It is important for these conservatives to remember that for them to have any chance of getting their agenda addressed in “The Swamp,” the GOP majority in the US Congress will need to be retained.
Curbelo’s purplish congressional seat in Miami-Dade County will always be targeted by Democrats, as it was challenged by Republicans when former Rep. Joe Garcia (D) was in congress.Curbelo once again finds himself facing a strong challenge, but because he has been able to curry favor with many not-so-leftist Democrats with his stance of global warming, immigration reform, and his occasional push back against President Trump, the sophomore member that hails from the Miami boogie down is in good position to retain his highly coveted congressional seat.
Not only does Curbelo gets along with everyone in the House, and raise campaign money, he is able to disseminate the Republican agenda in both English and Espanol, much like Senator Marco Rubio can.
