The pro-Gay lobby, or LGBT community, is up in arms after President Trump tweeted that Transgender Americans would not be allowed to serve under any condition in the US military.
Trump said that he decision to ban Transgender individuals from serving was made solely after consulting with his national security team and the Pentagon. The National Center for Transgender Equality had a mouthful to say about this decision.
“This is worse than don’t ask don’t tell, this is don’t serve, don’t serve…This is an appalling attack on our service members; it is about bigotry rather than military readiness, reason or science. It is indefensible and cannot stand.”
Do you think the 2nd Amendment will be destroyed by the Biden Administration?(2)
Here are Trump’s tweets about his decision:

As expected, members of the Democratic Caucus in the U.S.Congress came out swinging against the president.
An absolute disgrace. Shameful discrimination against men & women bravely serving our nation. They are patriots & should be treated as such. https://t.co/n1FhQWfKxr

Two of Florida’s top Democratic members of the House, Reps. Debbie Wasserman Schultz and Ted Deutch, who are considered champions of the gay rights movement, took to social media express their opposition to Trump’s announcement.
Rep. Ted Deutch (D), who represents Wilton Manors, a city in Broward County considered to be the center of the gay universe in south Florida, had this to say on his Facebook page:“…His mean-spirited decision to exclude qualified and dedicated Americans from our military has no legitimate justification.”
In the face of these bigoted tweets, I’m proudly standing with the LGBT community and am committed to fighting against the President’s shameful, harmful policy.”
Wasserman Schultz said this:
White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders addressed the issue during her daily press briefing, stating, “the decision is based on a military decision. It’s not meant to be anything more than that,” and adding that President Trump feels the his decision to ban Transgender Americans from serving in the military was “the best one for the military.”President Trump’s ban on transgender individuals serving in our nation’s military is appalling, ignorant, and unacceptable. Thousands of transgender individuals serve honorably and capably in our military to defend our freedom and protect the American idea that everyone should be treated equally under the law.
