As Republicans continue to pound Democrats over the “disastrous” Obamacare law that President Obama once said would allow Americans to keep their exist healthcare plans and doctors, more and more Republican senators are now backing away from the Senate’s latest version of the “repeal and replace” American Health Care Act, or “Trumpcare.”
The National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC) newest digital video highlights Democratic Senators espousing all of the broken Obamacare promises and “excuses” Democrats have made regarding the ailing healthcare law over the years.Florida Senator Bill Nelson (D) is featured in the montage attack video along side other Affordable Healthcare Act-supporting Democrats saying that Obamacare would “reduce Floridian’s policy premiums.”
“Bill Nelson should be held accountable for being dishonest with voters and being complacent in Obamacare’s death spiral.”-NRSC Communications Director Katie Martin
Do you think the 2nd Amendment will be destroyed by the Biden Administration?(2)
But while the Republicans have had seven years to find a viable replacement for Obamacare, the latest efforts to follow through with their campaign promises to do so has all-but failed miserably.
Conservative Republicans in the Senate are barely hanging on to the Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell’s healthcare offering, as Senators Mike Lee (UT) and Jerry Moran (KS) become the latest to jump ship.
Senators Rand Paul (KY) and Susan Collins (ME) have already stated that they would not support the measure, even as Senators Marco Rubio and Ted Cruz, who initially opposed the bill on its face, have both given recently expressed their support for the newest amended version of the GOP health care bill. But even if Cruz and Rubio hinted or said they would support an amended, more conservative senate healthcare bill, it is not certain the they would cast a final vote in favor of it.
Senate Democrats took their shots at their Republican colleagues:
“This second failure of Trumpcare is proof positive that the core of this bill is unworkable…Rather than repeating the same failed, partisan process yet again, Republicans should start from scratch and work with Democrats on a bill that lowers premiums, provides long term stability to the markets and improves our health care system.”-Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY)-NY Times
As you can imagine, President Trump is not all that happy with the latest failed and embarrassing effort to replace Obamacare.
Republicans should just REPEAL failing ObamaCare now & work on a new Healthcare Plan that will start from a clean slate. Dems will join in!
