London, England-Oy Vey! With President Trump’s visit to Israel a week away, an American diplomat part of the delegation in charge of helping facilitate the visit, just stuck his foot in his mouth.
The American said that the the Western Wall, one of the holiest sites in Judaism, was located in the West Bank, and not in old Jerusalem. The Israelis quickly question the comment and ask the Trump Administration for clarification, but according to Rep. Ron DeSantis (R), the administration is showing hesitancy in acknowledging that the Western Wall is in fact part of Israel.
“The Western Wall is one of the holiest sites in Judaism and there is no reason to be waffling about whether it is properly considered to be a part of Israel. Jerusalem is the eternal and indivisible capital of the Jewish people and of the modern State of Israel. Indeed, soon Israelis will be celebrating the 50th anniversary of the liberation of Jerusalem during the defensive Six Day War. Let’s stand with our strong friend and ally and not kowtow to those who seek to do Israel harm.”-Rep. Ron DeSantis
Do you think the 2nd Amendment will be destroyed by the Biden Administration?(2)
The White House then responded to the Wall comments:
The Shark Tank will be reporting from Jerusalem and Tel Aviv this week, so stay tuned for on-the- street interviews and pictures of the Western Wall and other key religious sites.“These comments were not authorized by the White House. They do not reflect the US position, and certainly not the President’s position.”-CNN
We may even try to sneak into the Gaza Strip for a game of “dodge the incoming Hellfire missile.”
