The chorus of Democratic members of Congress asking for an independent investigation into possible ties between President Trumps 2016 presidential campaign and the Russian government, continues.
First Democrats were up in arms because former FBI Director James Comey was not sent to the corner of the room after his supposed involvement in the Hillary Clinton investigation during last year’s general election cycle.Democrats wanted his head.
Now because they feel Comey has unjustly fired over his investigation into the Team Trump, Democrats are out defending the former embattled law enforcement chief, and calling for an independent investigation.
Do you think the 2nd Amendment will be destroyed by the Biden Administration?(2)
During an interview with CNN, Rep. Charlie Crist (D-FL) said said that it was important to have an FBI director with “great integrity,” and questioned how “objective would that whole scenario be” regarding President Trump choosing someone would be tasked to investigate him over the Russian campaign collusion allegations.
Crist, who cited his past investigatory prowess as Attorney General of Florida, said that “someone could be chosen” who checks all the necessary boxes to be FBI Director, but added, “when you have the investigated picking the investigator, its a little unusual.”
Crist, like the rest of his Democratic colleagues in the U.S. Congress, wants a special prosecutor appointed to continue the investigation into the possible collusion between the Russian government possible involvement in allegedly swaying the election in Trump’s favor. The liberal online political commentary website Wonkette, cited how angry Democrats once were with former director Comey shortly after the election. Crist was one of those Democrats what seemed bothered with Comey post election.
“I want to [have faith in Comey],” said a visibly annoyed Rep. Charlie Crist (D-Fla.). “I have concerns. Stay tuned.” […]-Wonkette
When asked if President Obama should have fired Comey, Crist then found it prudent to say that he did not feel comfortable passing “judgment” in the matter.
“Well, I don’t know. I don’t want to pass judgement. When you are President of the United States, you have access to information that you and I don’t have, and so kind of difficult to be a Monday morning quarterback in dealing with a situation like this
I will tell you this. I have great confidence and respect in the integrity and judgement of President Obama …I think he did the right thing.”-Rep. Charlie Crist (D)
So, that means President Trump must have had the same access to information that President Obama did, and might have made his decision to fire Comey based on that that privileged information, right?
