The anticipated 2018 senatorial cage match between Florida Governor Rick Scott (R) and incumbent U.S. Senator Bill Nelson (D) edges closer to become reality, as a new poll taken by the University of North Florida shows Nelson with a early 6-point lead over Scott in a head-to-head match-up.

While Scott plays coy whenever he is asked about whether or not he will definitely announce a run against Nelson, a Scott senatorial run is the worse kept secret in Florida.Nelson, who would be running for re-election to the senate for a fourth term, says he is ready to take on Scott, if the challenge presents itself.
