Just because Governor Rick Scott and the maestro in the Florida House, Speaker Richard Corcoran, are having a bit of a tiff about state dollars going to lure businesses to come to Florida, it doesn’t mean that the two men are at odds on all issues.
Both Corcoran and Scott are on the same page on just about everything (just not the whole “corporate welfare” stuff. Shhhh) including the halting of the refugee resettlement process that President Trump has now implemented.Scott told the Shark Tank late last year that all refugees coming into the country needed a proper vetting, and that he believed then-President-elect Trump would put a stop to Obama’s move to bring in undocumented and unchecked refugees from the Middle East.
Scott added the as the governor of the state, he expected, demanded more transparency from the federal government on the refugees being relocated in Florida.
Do you think the 2nd Amendment will be destroyed by the Biden Administration?(2)
Corcoran recently echoed Scott’s request of transparency in a letter he penned to President Trump last week.
“We find the present arrangement for this program unacceptable and an abrogation of our duty to protect the safety of Florida residents…Consequently, the Florida House of Representatives is seriously re-evaluating Florida’s role in these programs.”–Speaker Richard Corcoran (TB Times)
