We might just be in the beginning of 2017 but a lot of potential candidates are starting to decide if they want to run for office in 2018. That is exactly what Republican David Wilson is doing.
Last week Hillsborough County Commissioner Al Higginbotham announced he will not be running for re-election and Wilson is trying to decide if he wants to run for his spot. Other potential candidates include Tom Aderhold, Tim Schock, Janet Cruz and Kevin Beckner.Wilson never ran for office before but his background is very impressive. He is a commercial real estate associate and investor and he is developing his own online cigar retail company.
In addition to his professional ventures, Wilson also has been involved in a lot of community issues as well. He is the Chairman for the MPO Citizen’s Advisory Committee and a member of the BoD for the Women’s Resource Center of Tampa Bay.
