Congressman Charlie Crist, or Governor Crist as he prefers to be called from a newly released January 16th fundraiser advertisement, is welcoming Trump’s 35% tariff on businesses going overseas in order to keep jobs in the U.S.
In an Interview with Jake Tapper on “State of the Union,” Crist said that “Whatever it is that we come to to help American workers get back to work and help the middle class and our country, we need to do it together and do it in a spirit of cooperation.”He was asked if he supported the tariff on American businesses wanting to take jobs overseas and said “yes” because “It’s all about jobs and making sure that we have American jobs protected, we protect the American worker, give them the opportunity to be able to provide for their families, get a college education.”
“Any good idea that is presented, we have to be open-minded to receive it,” he added. This comes at a time when Trump faces opposition from many Democrats and even Republicans, but Crist assures that the ideas should be discussed and that “just because the messenger is somebody that was in a different party is no reason to cast it out.”
Do you think the 2nd Amendment will be destroyed by the Biden Administration?(2)
Keeping jobs in the United States was a staple in Trump’s message and rallies. Soon after winning the Presidential election, he adopted the slogan “Buy American. Hire American.”
Thank you Florida. My Administration will follow two simple rules: BUY AMERICAN and HIRE AMERICAN! #ICYMI– Watch: https://t.co/GhitNM0gJq pic.twitter.com/OawesIeUjB
