The holiday season is upon us, and while Americans across the country scramble to scoop up gifts for the friends and family, the true meaning of Christmas seems to almost always be forgotten.
While a good part of today’s society has been wusified by atheist types who cry foul whenever the words “Merry Christmas” are uttered, it’s refreshing to hear elected officials not cower down to these wimps who take offense by the mere mention of the real the word “Christmas.”
During the Governor’s Christmas tree lighting ceremony at the state capitol in Tallahassee, Florida, Governor Rick Scott and Attorney General Pam Bondi both said that Christmas was about the birth of Christ and not just about gifts.
Bondi asked reporters and attendees of the tree lighting ceremony to not forget that “celebrating the birth of Christ” was the true meaning of Christmas, before sharing her concern that the holiday is often turned into being all about gifts.
