Florida’s Attorney General Pam Bondi seems to be Missing in Action nowadays since Trump won the presidency, leaving many politicos and media types to speculate that there days in Tallahassee are numbered.
Bondi is thought to be on the short list for some position within Trump’s Administration, but no one knows which job should could be offered.We initially thought that she would be tapped for U.S. Attorney General, but Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-AL) has already accepted that position.
So where will Bondi go?

According to the Tampa Bay Times, if Bondi leaves within her second and last term in office, Governor Rick Scott will then have to appoint someone as interim Attorney General.
The Times threw out a few names, and while these individuals are suited to fill the void if Bondi leaves, there are others will also be considered.
Again, that’s if Bondi goes to Washington, D.C.But from that list of possible replacements, the two possible picks to really watch for are Kent Perez and Rep. Jose Felix “Pepi” Diaz.
First of all, Perez is Bondi’s general counsel and chief of staff, not to mention the guy know his way around the office.

And then there is Rep. Diaz.
C’mon, anyone with a nickname of “Pepi” has to be a shoe-in for any spot, right?Diaz is a member of Speaker Richard Corcoran’s Miami Mafia House leadership team, who is considered by many along with Sen. Anitere Flores, to part of the rising “Dream Team” within the Republican Party of Florida.
Diaz, who will serve his last term in office starting next year, is rumored to be eyeing a congressional seat, or possibly a state Senate seat.
With Reps. Carlos Curbelo, Ileana Ros-Lehtinen and Mario Diaz-Balart all winning their respective congressional races this election cycle, Diaz would have to wait another two years to see if one of these three decides to step down, or possibly loses re-election in 2018.
Translation: “Pepi” is looking to run for higher offices somewhere else.
Until Bondi decides on what she will do next, “Pepi” and Perez, as well as anyone else hoping to get picked as Florida’s next AG, will have to sit tight for just a little while longer.
