Ben Carson, an early Trump surrogate who endorsed him shortly after dropping out, has apparently turned down the position of Secretary of Health and Human Resources. He was one of Trump’s earliest aides who was expected to help him in constructing an alternative to Obamacare for the Trump administration.
As reported by the Hill, Armstrong Williams, a business manager and close friend, commented that Ben Carson would not be joining the Trump administration and would instead be an unofficial advisor to Trump.
“Dr. Carson was never offered a specific position, but everything was open to him,” said Williams.
Rumors also arose that Ben Carson was being considered for Secretary of Education.
