According to the consulting firm Dentons, former CIA Officer and U.S. Army Green Beret, Todd Wilcox, who ran for the U.S. Senate in Florida this past election cycle, is being considered as the next CIA Director of National Intelligence in the upcoming Trump Administration.
This post would be a natural fit for Wilcox, considering he knows the inner workings of the intelligence agency.Wilcox jumped out of the 2016 Republican senatorial primary race when U.S. Senator Marco Rubio decided to run for re-election, and quickly became one of Rubio’s top surrogates throughout both the primary and general election cycles.
Senator Rubio told the Shark Tank that Wilcox had an incredible pedigree and was someone to keep our eye one. Rubio added that Wilcox had a bright future ahead of him, and that he should not rule out running for the U.S. Congress again.
Do you think the 2nd Amendment will be destroyed by the Biden Administration?(2)
It is fair to chalk up Rubio as being one of Wilcox’s first endorsers, if he decides to run for elected office.
We ran into Wilcox and his wife at Rubio’s election night soiree, where we asked the veteran if he would consider taking another stab at running for Congress.
Wilcox jokingly pointed at his wife and said that any future decision to run for elected office would be her call to make.Mrs. Wilcox laughed off the question, all-but saying that she had enough of campaigns, which prompted Wilcox to say that he was focused on his Restore American Leadership political action committee.
Regardless of whether or not Wilcox is tapped by President-elect Donald Trump to help lead the CIA, expect Wilcox’s political profile to glisten in the coming years.
