The world over is still shell-shocked over President-elect Donald Trump’s historic win over Hillary Clinton, and Trump’s past and present detractors are now moving closer to kissing the ring of power he wields.
Even after he won the Republican presidential nomination, establishment Republicans like Speaker Paul Ryan, Senators John McCain and Lindsey Graham, all pulled their support for Trump, leaving media types and politicians to he was left out to dry, and could not possibly win the presidency without them. They were wrong.
Trump’s crushing victory sent a scathing message to both Democrats and Republicans of how much everyday Americans were dissatisfied by the way political party capos and leaders were running their country.
Do you think the 2nd Amendment will be destroyed by the Biden Administration?(2)
One of Trump’s presidential primary opponents, Florida Senator Marco Rubio, was the first of his detractors to support Trump once he won the nomination.
“I congratulate President-elect Trump and Vice President-elect Pence on their victory. They listened to the frustrations and anxieties of the American people after eight years of failure in Washington and earned this opportunity to lead the country. Their victory, along with Republican Senate and House victories across the country, are a clear rejection of business as usual in Washington.
“It’s been a long, tough and hard-fought election, but President-elect Trump struck the right tone last night by asking the country to come together. Whether you voted for him or not, he will soon be our president and our nation can only be successful in the years to come by helping him succeed.“I’m honored to be returning to the Senate to serve the people of Florida for another six years. I’m hopeful that these next two years with a Republican Senate, House and White House allow us to accomplish even more positive things on behalf of the people of Florida and for the greater good of our country.”-Senator Marco Rubio
After suffering a crushing loss to Trump in his home state of Florida during the presidential primary election, Rubio was all-but forced to run for re-election to the Senate to preserve his legacy.
Rubio’s political legacy has now been given a new lease on life.
Remember, during his victory speech, Trump said he wasn’t sure how long he would serve as president.
Rubio’s presidential dreams are not dashed, just shelved for now.Another one of Trump’s GOP presidential primary opponents, who took their sweet time in openly supporting his nomination was Sen. Ted Cruz.

Meanwhile, Democrats have been reluctant to support Trump’s presidency, but many of them, including House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D).

President Obama, who must know that there is I high probability that Donald Trump will re-write his entire presidential legacy, also congratulated and offered his support in making the transition period for the incoming Trump Administration as smooth as possible.
