Davie, FL-During their second senatorial debate, Republican Senator Marco Rubio and Democratic Rep. Patrick Murphy were asked about the recent United Nations resolution vote against the U.S. embargo to Cuba, and if they supported lifting the decades-long trade embargo.
Sounding somewhat compassionate for the plight of the Cuban people Murphy said he wants “to help the Cuban people out” but believes that the 50-year plus embargo “has not worked.”“I understand this is personal, but i also believe we had a policy in place for over 50 years that has not worked. I want to help the cuban people out, and I do not think anyone does democracy like America, so we want to provide more opportunity for the cuban people. We would rather see our own cruise ships there in Havana, or would we rather see Russian spy ships? I would continue to ensure that we do have targeted sanctions against the Castro regime and those who had terrible human rights violations in an attempt to move toward civilizations.”-Rep. Patrick Murphy (D)
Rubio, who is considered persona non grata by the Cuban government, pounced on Murphy regarding his “cruise ship” comment and apparent lack of knowledge about the recent U.S. funding of Communism by President Obama where members to the Cuban government and Communist Party are now able to receive unlimited cash remittances.
Rubio also added that the Cuban government also recently allowed Russia to open a military base on the Island, and that the regime continues to harbor and protect cop killers and those who stole Medicare money.take our poll - story continues belowDo you think the 2nd Amendment will be destroyed by the Biden Administration?(2)

That is a massive exchange for nothing in return. the U.N. today is nothing short of lawlessness. The refusal of this administration to enforce that and stand up for that is lawlessness.
You cannot just ignore the law of this country the way this administration habitually does, and as far as I’m concerned, an invasion of cruise ships — cruise ships are not going to bring democracy to Cuba. We have made concession after concession to the Castro regime and we have nothing. They have not taken even a quarter step towards democracy. since the president announced we would now be importing rum and cigars from Cuba.-Sen. Marco Rubio (R)
