While Senator Marco Rubio was in Fort Lauderdale hanging out Senator Cory Gardner (R-CO), Lt. Gov. Carlos Lopez-Cantera, and a couple hundred campaign supporters, President Obama was just down the road in Miami Gardens ripping him for continuing to support Republican presidential nominee, Donald Trump.
Obama, who was obviously stumping for Hillary Clinton in hopes that she will win and help preserve his legacy, used Rubio’s own anti-Trump words against him.“How can you call him a ‘con artist’ and ‘dangerous’ and object to all the controversial things he says and then say, ‘But I’m still gonna vote for him?’ C’mon, man!”
Did Obama just deliver another veiled dig at Rubio by using the term “C’mon, man!?”
Do you think the 2nd Amendment will be destroyed by the Biden Administration?(2)
Rubio is a huge football fan, regardless of how bad his Miami Dolphins are. The “Rhodes scholars” on ESPN’s “Sunday Morning Countdown” have a segment called “C’mon, man!” that pokes fun at football players who make or say really dumb things while on, or off the field.
Obama added:
“It is the height of cynicism. That’s the sign of somebody who will say anything, do anything, pretend to be anybody, just to get elected. And you know what? If you’re willing to be anybody just to be somebody, then you don’t have the leadership that Florida needs in the United States’ Senate.”
Polls show Rubio winning the race, but a recent Quinnipiac poll has him in a virtual tie with his Democratic opponent.
Yes, Obama is in town for Clinton, but he also is stumping for Rubio’s opponent, Rep. Patrick Murphy, who needs all the help he can get at this juncture in the race.
President Obama also told the crowd to “ get pokie to vote and get Javier to vote” for Clinton.
While he surely called on attendees to reach out to me, your lovable and cuddly reporter, I have not yet received phone call from anyone pressing me to vote for Hillary.Obama urges diverse Miami Gardens crowd to “get Pookie to vote and get Javier to vote” for @HillaryClinton
