During one of his senatorial re-election campaign rallies in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, Senator Rubio repeated his concerns about how important it was for Republicans to retain control of the U.S. Senate.

With Rubio and others all-but conceding defeat in the presidential race between Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton, the focus of concern for the GOP continues to be the United States Supreme Court and the potential justices that would be nominated under a Clinton presidency.

Rubio told attendees that during the last presidential debate, Clinton spoke of the Supreme Court “as if it was an extra legislative body, a group of supervisors, that were in charge of making policy,” and not a court that was solely tasked to “ apply and interpret the Constitution.”

Regardless of what happens at the top of the ticket, the senate majority is going to be asked to confirm a whole new slate of Supreme Court Justices that will have a 40-year impact-that’s a generational impact on this country.

Gardner added that Republicans“did not have a margin of error in the Senate,” adding that if Clinton wins, “a generational damage, if not permanent damage to this country,” would occur.

Democrats are hoping that Donald Trump’s lagging poll numbers will be enough for them to overtake Rubio on election night.

Unfortunately for them, Rep. Patrick Murphy (D) has not shown the muster needed to be able to defeat someone like Rubio.
