Republican Party leadership’s recent and definitive split with their presidential nominee Donald Trump has only widened the ongoing divide that has plagued the GOP’s for years.
The leaders of the party, including Speaker Ryan, have no one to blame but themselves for Trump’s nomination. For years the ruling class of the GOP has force-fed everyday Conservatives and Republicans their choice for president. The 2016 election cycle saw the rise of Trump because of so many disenfranchised and upset individuals who just plainly got fed up with being told who to vote for.
The casualties of this intra-party revolt were Conservatives like Senators Ted Cruz and Marco Rubio, who stood by principle, and in any given presidential election cycle, probably would be standing toe-to-toe with Hillary Clinton right now.
Do you think the 2nd Amendment will be destroyed by the Biden Administration?(2)
In other words, Trump is the nominee because of the GOP establishment.
Speaker Ryan and other GOP leaders have waived the white flag and all-but conceded the presidency to Democrats.
Ryan, who after parting with Trump, is now solely focused on helping down-ticket Republicans like Rep. Carlos Curbelo (R) retain their seats in Congress, as well as attempt to pick up a few ‘toss-up’ seats. To Ryan, Curbelo is “a workhorse of workhorses in Congress.”
Curbelo and Ryan were out campaigning together in Miami, stopping at a school before attending a voter outreach call-session with students at one of Curbelo’s campaign offices.

Both men engage in a political bromance as they exchange pleasantries about one another. Ryan told reporters and volunteers that they need to “think about the consequences of this election.”
Think about the choice we have for this country, and the way we want to go in this country. 70 percent of American people, they believe this country is going in the wrong direction. They believe that the future for you generation will not be as good as it was for our generation.”
After pointed to the better.gop as the GOP go-to website for the solutions to the issues facing Americans, Ryan may have taken a veiled jab at Trump when he said the following:
“In order to fix our country’s problems, we need to send people of integrity, people of vision, people of principle…”
He was talking about Curbelo, but the statement could also be taken as slight against Trump. You be the judge.
Curbelo is locked in a very close, highly contentious and must-win congressional race against liberal Democrat, former Congressman Joe Garcia.
