Rep. Patrick Murphy (D) is running for the U.S. Senate against Senator Marco Rubio (R) and is losing in every public opinion poll that has been conducted, all except for a few that showed the two men tied.
Murphy’s latest (only) line of attack against Rubio has been trying to tie Donald Trump around his neck, especially after the 2005 “Access Hollywood” video of Trump was released.While Murphy believes that playing the “Trump card” against Rubio will win him the election, perhaps the former Republican should take a look at the Trump necktie (noose) that is firmly wrapped around his family’s business.
According to an opposition research report conducted by True Stories Research for the Murphy’s congressional campaign, the family business, Coastal Constructions, Inc., did business with Donald Trump.

Ouch.
Team Murphy does not deny the report, and has taken to Democratic talking points to point at the “email hack” of the Democratic Party by Guccifer 2.0.
The research book says that in “April 2009, Construction Today reported that Coastal Constructions was the construction manager at risk for two luxury condominium projects belonging to Donald Trump.” Murphy’s family runs Coastal Construction, a major construction management company based in Miami. Before running for Congress, Murphy was a vice president at a company affiliate and reportedly owns up to approximately $5 million in Coastal Construction shares.
“Democrats have been targeted by a broad and nefarious effort by the Kremlin to support Donald Trump and his allies like Marco Rubio,” said Murphy spokesperson Joshua Karp. “While we can’t say with complete certainty, the leak of this document, which was stored on the same servers as other leaked documents from the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, is deeply suspicious. Meanwhile, it is shameful that Donald Trump and Marco Rubio have failed to condemn Russia’s unprecedented meddling in American elections.”One project was the 55-story Trump Royale in Sunny Isles Beach, Florida, the book says. The other was the 42-story, $150-million Trump Hollywood in Hollywood, Florida.
The research book, quoting a 2008 edition of the South Florida Constructor, says Coastal Construction president Dan Whiteman said that many of the company’s large residential projects had “been built for world-renowned developers including Jorge Perez, Craig Robins and Donald Trump.”-Buzzfeed
Vice presidential candidate Tim Kaine appeared on “Face the Nation” accusing Russia of the hack, but not before he said that it wasn’t known if the Russians were involved.
