The list of national Republicans, including a group of U.S. Senators, to pull away from Donald Trump for using off-color language to reference women in 2005 “Access Hollywood” video continues to grow.
If you thought Senator Marco Rubio would joined the chorus of Republican elected officials to disavow and pull their support from Donald Trump, including some of his colleagues in the Senate, you would be wrong.Rubio is sticking by Trump over Clinton.
Even young Republicans, who will one day replace the likes of Sen. John McCain, Speaker Paul Ryan, and others, are still backing Trump.

Like most, Rubio did take issue with Trump’s hot mic moment in 2005, calling the language used as “impossible to justify.”

In a written statement, Rubio did not pull his endorsement, rather made the case why he felt that Trump would be a far better leader than Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton.
“I ran against Donald Trump. And while I respect that voters chose him as the GOP nominee, I have never hesitated to oppose his policies I disagree with. And I have consistently rejected his offensive rhetoric and behavior.
“I disagree with him on many things, but I disagree with his opponent on virtually everything. I wish we had better choices for President…But I do not want Hillary Clinton to be our next President. And therefore my position has not changed.”-Sen. Marco Rubio
Even with the Trump tape, Democrats and Republicans both seem to feel that Rubio’s chances of defeating his Democratic senatorial opponent, Rep. Patrick Murphy, are pretty good.
The latest poll taken in the race shows Rubio besting Murphy by 7 points.
