The first presidential debate between Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump has come and gone, and depending on who you ask, both candidates won the debate.
Here is my assessment. Tell me if you agree with me on any or all the points that I make.Trump showed a different side of himself during the debate. He came off as very presidential and spoke more substantively on the issues. Because he allowed Clinton to get under his skin a bit and put him on the defensive, Trump probably wanted to really rip into her like he said he thought of doing during the debate. He didn’t. Trump showed restrain and I believe he won the debate simply for not blowing up on Clinton.
She did well. Very well. Of course she would do well, this is what she does. This is who she is, a great debater.
Do you think the 2nd Amendment will be destroyed by the Biden Administration?(2)
Clinton came very prepared, perfectly reciting her talking points on every issue. Like I said, Clinton effectively put Trump on the defensive, and kept him there throughout the debate.
What I believe was the most telling of Clinton’s performance was how she answered the questions. Clinton didn’t seem confident when answering the questions. Her eyes were constantly shifting up, down, left, right, the clear and the distinct hesitation in Clinton’s voice was unmistakable.
Another good point by @realDonaldTrump Why isn’t NATO helping us bomb the crap out of ISIS in the Middle East #debatenight #debates

Trump did miss several opportunities to skewer Clinton on Benghazi, the Clinton Foundation, and he should have pressed harder regarding the email scandal.
Clinton said it was a mistake to have the private email server. Trump did counter by telling her that it wasn’t a mistake, that she purposely set up the server and pass around Top Secret information, but that was it.
His performance reminded a little of Mitt Romney failing to deliver the necessary body blow to President Obama during their debates in 2008. Romney held back his attacks against Obama, prompting even the most liberal of Democrats to question why he relented on Obama.
Here are some of the debate highlights.Trump did score well on trade and when he hit her for supporting the Iran Nuclear deal. He called out her husband’s signing of the disastrous NAFTA deal as well, and reminder her how viciously she attacked President Obama during the 2008 Democratic presidential election, this after Clinton began to sing his praises.
Clinton didn’t have much of a comeback on either issue.
One issue that Clinton brought up that made Trump react to was when she questioned him on releasing his tax returns.
Trump took offense and almost immediately began to defend how “great” his business was and how much money he had made over the years..@realDonaldTrump seems a bit aggravated after @HillaryClinton ‘s tax return jab #debatenight #debates

Clinton clearly knew where to hit Trump where it would hurt the most, his ego.
So who won the debate?
I say Trump did because he is a newbie to this, Clinton is a veteran of 30 years.Trump held his own and stood up to what many perceived was a biased debate in favor of Clinton.
Debate Moderator, NBC host Lester Holt, never cut off Hillary Clinton during the debate, but on several occasions, Holt felt like he needed to interrupt Trump.
Do you think Trump didn’t notice what Holt was up to? Just look at what happened after the debate ended.
