Attorney John Morgan is widely known around the state of Florida for his highly advertised “For the People” slogan, his brash style of expressing himself, and for his support of legalizing medicinal marijuana.

Morgan is always being cited by the media because of his matter-of-fact persona, and is always up to supporting big name Democrats like Charlie Crist, Bill Clinton, and of course, Hillary Clinton.

While Morgan is loved by Democrats (except for Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz) for opening up his wallet in support of their campaigns or issues, Republicans and certain special interests groups with more of a Conservative leaning, love to use Morgan as a political piñata

 One of those groups that has been showcasing Morgan in their attack ads is Drug Free Florida.

DDF is against Morgan’s legalizing marijuana for medicinal purposes initiative.

Morgan, aka “Mr. Marijuana” is the largest proponent and donor to the effort to legalize pot in Florida.

The latest DDF attack ad doesn’t necessarily attack Morgan, rather uses  him in the their attack Hillary Clinton.

Hillary Clinton – Might your newfound support for “medical” marijuana have anything to do with the fact that John Morgan (a.k.a. Mr. Marijuana) is hosting his second presidential campaign fundraiser for you this evening?

The attack against Clinton has to do with her apparent change in position on medicinal marijuana.

Hillary in 2014: “I don’t think we’ve done enough research yet.”

Hillary in 2016 on Jimmy Kimmel Live: “I think what the states are doing right now needs to be supported. I absolutely support all the states that are moving toward medical marijuana.”

According to DDF, Clinton’s change in position puts her at odds with the Obama Administration who have “reaffirmed marijuana would remain a Schedule I Drug.”

This decision is based on whether marijuana, as determined by the FDA, is a safe and effective medicine,” he said, “and it’s not.”-Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) Chief Chuck Rosenberg

DDF’s attack  poses a couple more questions to Hillary Clinton:

Hillary Clinton – Do you really support a “medical” marijuana law that allows pretty much anyone to get their hands on pot, and that would be permanently embedded into Florida’s constitution where it can’t be changed, limited or fixed?

Hillary Clinton – Do you really support a law that specifically authorizes and legalizes kid-friendly pot candy with no limits on levels of THC, and which would inevitably increase a child’s risk of unknowingly ingesting THC?

Big Marijuana and John Morgan saw their Amendment 2 defeated in 2014 by a slim margin. The measure needed to receive 60 percent of the popular vote that election year, but only received 57 percent.

This year could be different as presidential elections tend to bring out more voters, which would increase the odds that Morgan and friends maybe lighting up a big fat marijuana-filled stogie on election night.
