Will Rep. Patrick Murphy debate Senator Marco Rubio?
Shortly after he won his senatorial primary race against homebuilder Carlos Beruff, Senator Marco Rubio challenged Democratic senatorial nominee, Rep. Patrick Murphy, to six debates.I can tell you that just going by Murphy’s political history of dodging debates with past opponents, Floridians will be lucky if he even shows up to one debate, maybe two.
Since entering politics in 2011, Murphy has skated by without having to confront his opponents. Murphy likes to throw bombs at detractors and political opponents, but won’t address them in an open forum.
Do you think the 2nd Amendment will be destroyed by the Biden Administration?(2)
This tactic is obviously by design, as his consultants and handlers have been very careful to shield him from having to openly talk about his knowledge of the issues.
This same tactic is used when it comes to dealing with the media. It seems that Murphy rarely holds a press conference, and when he is confronted by media, he keeps his remarks bland and pithy. Murphy doesn’t say much.
Just recently, Murphy cancelled the only debate he agreed to with his Democratic Senatorial opponent, Rep. Alan Grayson. In 2014, when he ran for reelection to the Congress against Republican Carl Domino, where he only agreed to attend two forums.Going back to 2012, this was also the case with Murphy.
Murphy was running for Congress against then-Congressman Allen West(R), who challenged him to four debates. Murphy campaign used every excuse in the book to limit their candidate’s exposure, which in the end resulted in Murphy only appearing at one forum with West, as well as one televised debate.
“This a person who doesn’t want to be in front of the public, he has no ideas, he does not address any of the issues, he is the emptiest of an empty suit-I think he’s just a name on the ballot.”-Congressman Allen West (ST)
Moments after the forum with West concluded, Murphy was whisked out of the room by his staff to avoid certain media.
In the video shot capturing what transpired just after the forum with West concluded, Murphy was asked several times if he was a licensed CPA in the state of Florida. Murphy ignored the question, but now four years later, that question appears to have been answered.A recent CBS4 Miami uncovered that Murphy has never been a licensed CPA in Florida. Murphy was licensed as an accountant in Colorado, where he never lived.
Here is the video of that:
Murphy will not appear in six debates. That’s just not going to happen. The last thing his campaign wants to see is video of Rubio dismantling Murphy for lack of knowledge, or having to explain his support of the Iran-nuclear deal, among other issues.
Oh, he ere is Allen West correcting Murphy for not knowing facts on Iraq spending during the aforementioned forum. (Video)
