Voters came out in full force in Clay County to vote for their favorite candidate. A lot of the races were very competitive and some candidates were always on the news.
The most competitive races were for Sheriff and for School Superintendent.Darryl Daniels received 35% of the vote and will be the next Sheriff of Clay County. He beat Craig Aldrich, James Jett and Harold Rutledge.
Addison Davis took 57% of the vote and won against incumbent Charlie Van Zant. He will face independent candidate Rebekah Shively and a write-in candidate in hopes of becoming the next School Superintendent.

In the two School Board races, Carol Studdard won her re-election bid against Bryan Campbell in District 2.
Mary Bolla also defeated incumbent and current chair of the School Board in District 4, Johnna McKinnon.
Mike Cella easily won against Michael Kerekes and will be Clay County’s new Commissioner for District 1.
