Janice Kerekes has been spearheading the attack against Charlie Van Zant for months. Many skeptics are saying her attacks are purely political and that she did that same thing three years ago except all of her accusations against Van Zant were found to be false.
Her witch hunt in the past against Van Zant cost the district thousands of dollars in legal fees and apparently she never apologized to the tax payers nor did she offer to pay the money back.Currently she is demanding an investigation into Van Zant once again. She is seemingly trying to do anything she can to prevent him from winning. What she is not telling the media is that her son (who is running for Clay County Commissioner against Mike Cella) has been getting paid by Addison Davis to help him with his campaign.
Davis’s campaign reports show on July 7, 2016 Micheal Kerekes was paid $1,350 for “campaign labor.”
Do you think the 2nd Amendment will be destroyed by the Biden Administration?(2)
Here is Davis’s campaign filing:
Regardless of the fact Kerekes states he works for the State Attorney’s office, truth be told, he doesn’t and below is the proof.
As I stated prior, if you follow what Davis is saying and what is happening in Duval County Schools under his watch it is clear he is a not a conservative and many say he is a democrat.
In this case, if you follow the money and the lies, it seems Kerekes just wants to get her unemployed son a job and she will say anything or do anything to make that happen even at the expense of the taxpayers in Clay County.
Charlie Van Zant released the following statement to The Shark Tank:This entire matter is disappointing.
Look at who benefits from making these allegations right before the primary election?
1. Addison Davis who is my opponent, knows he is behind this and he is desperate. He has been working through the campaign with Janice Kerekes. He has paid her son Michael Kerekes, an unemployed attorney from his Campaign account. They are all colluding with the union with their ABC Campaign to elect Addison Davis, Mary Bolla and Carol Studdard.
If the election turns out as the Times Union has alleged, the Union is trying to push out Van Zant and Board Chair McKinnon then you have a Superintendent and 3 board members that are bought and paid for by the union. What promises have been made by all of these candidates to the union boss, Rena Lee Piva who has put $1000 of her personal money and $1000 of the Union PCs money in Addison Davis’s campaign?
2. Michael Kerekes, is the plan to have Michael Kerekes become the next CCSB Attorney?
3. Janice Kerekes, her motivation and behavior pattern from the beginning of my term as Superintendent has been to attack and diminish me.
This is consistent with a pattern of behavior established by Mrs. Kerekes prior to me becoming Superintendent of Schools. She made an illegal motion to have an emergency board meeting in order to make the office of Superintendent of Schools appointed after I won the August 2012 primary election, after the board attorney found that to be illegal the meeting was cancelled, she was aided in the effort by current board member Carol Studdard.
In 2013 Kerekes was part of a 3-2 board vote to put me under investigation with the Florida Commission on ethics for sponsoring a American History conference in Clay County using public funds, when the sponsor used private funds to do so. All accusation were found to be baseless and the commission exonerated me, but not without months of turmoil in the school district, negative headlines, and costing thousands of taxpayer dollars on political witch hunt, she knew from the beginning was false.
Mrs. Kerekes has never once apologized to me, the district staff, nor the taxpayers’ or offered to offset the money thrown away during that senseless inquiry.
In the spring of 2014, Mrs. Kerekes and Mrs. Studdard both worked with a Political committee named “Children over Politics” to put an item on the ballot in Clay county to make the Superintendent of Schools appointed by the school board as opposed to being elected by the voters. When they failed to get enough signatures, the school board then filed a suit against the county commission to put it on the ballot at the last moment, the ballot measure failed.
Sometimes people make up things about others that they themselves are guilty off, many of the allegations surrounded ESE students, read below:

Addison and Duval improperly suspending a ESE student!
‘It is unclear from the record whether the Child actually attended the ATOSS during the above-referenced dates. Correspondence from Addison Davis, Chief of Schools, K-12 Education, dated April 20, 2015, provides that, “[i]t is my understanding that [the Child] has already served three (3) days of out-of-school suspension . . . .’
Mike Cella had the following to say about the accusations against his opponent Mike Kerekas:
Based on what I know about the facts, my opponent is working for Addison Davis. I would seriously call into question my opponents commitment to our race.
Is this his Plan B to get a job if he loses the Commissioner race?
We reached out to Mike Kerekas and Addison Davis for comment. They did not respond before this story was published.
