Carlos Beruff is a successful homebuilder from Sarasota, but his new claim to fame is being Senator Marco Rubio’s 2016 Republican senatorial primary opponent.
With recent polls showing Beruff losing big to Rubio in the primary election, Beruff is quick to point to his internal campaign polls that show he competes with the presumptive Democratic senatorial nominee, Rep. Patrick Murphy, if he gets past Rubio. We caught up with Beruff after he addressed a local Fort Lauderdale, Florida Tea Party group this past weekend.
Let me just say this, Beruff does not like Rubio all that much, saying that if Marco Rubio was reelected to the U.S. Senate, he would “finish out the rest of his life in Washington,” adding that he was an “empty suit,” before calling him a “career politician” who hadn’t visited all 67 Florida counties since being elected to the U.S. Senate in 2010.
Do you think the 2nd Amendment will be destroyed by the Biden Administration?(2)
Beruff also said that regardless of the political cards stacked against him, that he was “crazy enough” and determined to see this race to the end.
Beruff took every opportunity to lay into Rubio his support staff (the entire Republican Party) ripping the establishment Republicans for backing “their boy” Marco Rubio, and for trying to undermine Donald Trump during the presidential primary race.
Marco Rubio isn’t qualified to do the man’s (Donald Trump) laundry.-Carlos Beruff
Here Beruff tells you how he really feels about Senator Marco Rubio.
Beruff addresses being labeled as a Charlie Crist Republican for his past donations to Crist, as well as for attending a fundraiser in his honor. Read more about Beruff’s ties to Charlie Crist here.
