When your own party starts raising money for your opponent to knock you out of the race, you are in trouble. That is exactly what is happening to Debbie Wasserman Schultz (FL-D).
Democratic donor and trial attorney John Morgan is threatening to support Wasserman Schultz’s opponent. He is saying he would raise up to $200,000 for them according to POLITICO.Morgan and Wasserman Schultz have clashed in the past over medical marijuana and once again Morgan is trying to pass a constitutional amendment in November that would legalize medical marijuana in Florida.
Wasserman Schultz has been critical of his agenda and that is why he wants her out.
Do you think the 2nd Amendment will be destroyed by the Biden Administration?(2)
Morgan said if he sees numbers showing her opponent, Tom Canova can win he will both directly donate to his campaign and tap his deep fundraising abilities to help raise additional money.
Canova said his campaign has not done any polls yet but they will be doing one later on this month.
He said:It had seemed premature for me and I did not want to do polling until my name recognition started rising, which it clearly has in recent weeks.
Wasserman Schultz’s campaign spokesman, Ryan Banfill had the following to say about Morgan’s statement:
John Morgan is very smart and politically savvy and he is certainly familiar with Debbie Wasserman Schultz’s strength in her district, so it’s not surprising he’s questioning Canova’s viability in this campaign.
