Clay County Sheriff candidate Craig Aldrich retired from the Clay County Sheriff’s office yesterday where he has served as Under Sheriff for a number of years.
In his retirement memo to Sheriff Rick Beseler he stated he was retiring to focus more on his campaign:Like you did in your first campaign, I too feel that the last sixty days of any campaign is extremely important and now requires my full time devotion.
Aldrich also noted the Florida Retirement System states a member who retires has to wait six months before they can be reemployed by the F.R.S provider. With that being said he felt if he retired now he would be able to return to a full-time status and continue to draw on his existing retirement if he gets elected.
Do you think the 2nd Amendment will be destroyed by the Biden Administration?(2)
Whereas Aldrich has stated his retirement is to focus on his campaign, others have speculated it may be due to other circumstances which have yet to come.
James Jett, Darryl Daniels and Harold Rutledge are also running for Clay County Sheriff.
